Party Preparation

A brief post before a party.
The party has a theme. Come dressed as the person you would be if you didn't have the occupation you have now.
I am all organised to dress as the make up girl who is in charge of spraying the special "camera friendly sweat" on the actors. Male only of course...I would be a very selective make up girl and could choose my jobs and the hot bodies I work on. All the usuals make the list...but as the reality of the person doesn't always match up to the reality of the person I would think of them as the character from the film. I would have worked with all the hottest bodies in the industry.
Mr Darcy, Maj John Sheppard, Captain Jack , Will Turner ( He was so nice when I sprayed him with elven sweat that I worked on his next movie !!!) Aragorn ( applied the artistic dirt too) Captain Tight Pants, Jack O'Neil . Daniel Jackson, Fox Mulder, Angel, Spike, Wolveine, Han Solo ,The New Dr Who ( I'm just back from the UK) John Thornton. I could be convinced to do groups. I'd have a special 5l sprayer for the Chippendales Australian tour.
Ahhh...the strength of the imagination!!!!!!!
I have a new birthday camera....maybe some pics to follow (not of hot bodies unfortunately).
Here is a picture of my very specialised sweat spraying equipment...the best in Hollywood

Blogger says No

I have spent all of Spicks and Specks trying to download these pictures into the previous post and now I am giving up and making a new one so you'd better jolly well look at them really, really hard!!!

Here is the Garlic Sizzling Seafood being eaten with a spoon - a fate worse than death we all know!!! And in the background: Seafood Tempura.

MrsMacGyver is faster than a speeding bullet train : a Chopstick Ninja.

Here are the bashful Thuja Evergreen socks being worn. You can see them in a blogging mutual admiration cycle here .

Hippo Birdie 2 Ewe

Yes ...it's my birthday and I'll blog If I want to...etc
Well it was yesterday but who is counting (except for 2 paw with the maths fetish)
Many thanks for all the birthday wishes.

Mr Macgyver didn't get me anything...he
was out of rubber bands and paper clips and all the mettalic wrap off the chewing gum got used up when he had to make that emegencey electrical generator. AND the rubbish hasn't been put out for 2 weeks....refer to previous comments on the only draw back of imaginary husbands..... so there is no room in the bin . No one better generate much rubbish at the party at the weekend. Guests might have to leave with an unpleasant party bag!!!!!!

Had Japanese for birthday tea. Might be my last chance if we have to boycott all things Japanese over the whaling situation. But despite that little cultural disagreement for now...sushi YUM.

2 paw has offered to insert pictures of dinner and possible of birthday socks. Thanks photo queen.

Back at work .......so sad. All of you out there cheering ...SHUT UP.

Actually it has been good. My class came back slightly hyper but once we shared all the "I've been to Qld news"and other assorted gossip things calmed down and they have been working really hard. No one is in any trouble really and some of their self portraits done in different styles( surreal, modernist, psychaedelic, monochromatic etc) have come out exceptionally well. The biggest hurdle this week was getting up to be there at all. I was much happier with the holiday life of food, sleep ins and telly.

A few of us had a couple of days in Swansea at Lester cottages...I will insert photos later. It was lovely. Very nice accommodation and we managed to eat more that 3 times a day. The new raspberry/white chocolate got a bit of a work out as did tim tams and diet coke...gotta keep the diet balanced.

In reply to prison break questions from Suzi. I dont reckon the brother is dead...just a bit mashed from the accident...hes a big tough Aussie( I think) ...he'll pull through.
Robin Tunny has weird eyes. This is about her only grown up role that I can remeber although she has done lot of things according to IMDb ...and I agree she hasnt changes at all.
Orland is mine.....you have been warned.

Gotta go...the network is about to go down....yeah.."fixed" indeed.
More later...the wifi cant be trusted.

We're All going On A Winter Holiday.

Blogging after a gap is tricky!!!!
I cant decide whether to fill in the last week or just be glad it's gone and blog about holidays.
I survived Parent Teacher interviews. Only found 4 huge, massive, stupid mistakes in the written notes as I was talking to the parent...whoops . I am a well known lousy typist so that seemed to cover it but of course it did mean I had to make corrections and try to re print a mistake free copy for them. I failed to get them to print and what with the utter joy of the disco to look forward to on the Thursday night i ended up leaving it- I will be dealing with P/T notes in the first week of term.
Ah yes ..the disco. Does this blog site automatically delete major bouts of swearing??????
I stayed at school. By the time I did another interview it meant that I would have driven home...and an hour later driven back to school. Not worth it I thought so I didn't bother.
I did get lots of fiddly things done...not the reprinting of notes but never mind. It was a long wait though. Had diet coke and BBQ shapes for tea..and an icecream...Weiss Raspberry and vanilla...YUMMY ( and the Govt expects ME to be responsible for the healthy eating habits of the nations children?!?!?!) Watched Star Wars- Return of the Jedi while pottering about...so that kept me a bit amused. I have been working my way through the first (original, proper) trilogy when I have been working late or the kids are at PE .
Then the disco.....SO LOUD and so late. The 3-6 disco went from 6.30 pm till 8.30 pm. A little late at night we all thought but then we (as a staff ) weren't consulted about any aspect of the damn thing so why not go till 8.30 ??( apart from the fact that most of the teachers were at school till after 9 the night before.)
I seemed to go well. We (the old people) knew the words to a lot of the songs since they are recycled from our 80s youth!!!! Freaked a few of the kids by knowing the My Sharona beat thingy that someone is re using and as for knowing ALL the words to Mickey ( you're so fine you blow my mind....) that was too astonishing for a few of them to take in. I was the Time Warp expert. I had it at school for ME to watch and so the kids in my class figured I would know the steps ( yup...sure do) but I am a disaster at the Nut Bush. If I can't copy someone I get all lost...always have!!! So at 8.30 the DJ announced the last dance...amazingly how the ragged, exhaused cheer of the staff and some parents was louder than the groans of the kids!!!
So we had the last dance...and then she played another song.........and another ......and another.
That's when the swearing was really kicking in. 10 to 9 it finished . Insert what you think I was saying by then. I got cornered by a parent who wanted to talk about her childs progress.......kid is in my class and we had a PT the night before but that wasn't stopping her. Did I think she should send her to a private school next year. Screw you lady...I'm tired...send her NOW and GET OUT OF MY WAY.
I know there were parents who were so grateful to the staff that attended ( not everyone does)...and I know our SS went to both discos...that why they get paid the medium sized bucks though....but to ask a state school teacher giving up personal time , after 16 interviews the night before if the Private system isn't a lot better and has lots of advantages...she nearly had a kareoke machine inserted where the sun don't shine. It is people like that that make me resent the extras...and I have to keep reminding my self that it isnt everyone and that I didn't HAVE to be there ( not bloody much I didn't ..well one staff member didn't attend but I won't start on that !!!!! If we don't go there is no disco...we have the riot control power and the parents don't )
Anyway....it was a pretty wrecked bunch of kids that turned up on Friday...the ones that came of course. We survived..and no I did NOT show them a video.
So now I am on holiday.
I am lunching.
I am reading.
I am snacking.
Iam viewing highly intellectual videos and rewinding the bits where the hot young man in prison break takes of his shirt...pause to drool...and we see his tattoos, and chest, and arms, and...........key board is now a puddle.
I am lunching again.
I am visiting a friend and using her broadband. I wish I had someone to organise broad band for me....sigh.
It sounds like all you coven members had a lovey time with the dye....2paws green (goes with out sayng I know) sock stuff looks great.
In answer to your question Suzi ( can't make you a clicky link...I need lessons from 2paw for that!!!) yes there were some giant dragons...well fairly large ones...when I get home I will put in a couple of pics. I wish it had been the Year Of The Dragon....but sadly it was the year of the Rooster and that wasn't so exciting in the giant animal stakes...some sodding big roosters around the place though. Pics to follow.
I am going now..there is wine, there is plum paste and tasty cheese, there is a DVD with Orlando Bloom in it and all the children are in bed. Life is quite good!!!!!
